DR. LYUDMILA ARKHYPOVA

Brief Bio

I have over 20 years of professional experience in the environmental management of natural resource development projects. I completed PhD in 2001 and Doctor of Engineering in 2013.

I served as the principal investigator and the responsible expert of the projects: 1) Demonstrational project of estimating the environmental impact on the oil and gas deposits in Carpathian region, 2) International project TACIS (European Union) “The perfection of cross-border system of saving Verhovyna region”, 3) The scientific bases of developing the technogenious-ecological safety in oil-gas branch and non-traditional energetic, 4) Environment Impact Assessment (EIA) of oil-gas deposits (Ukrnafta), 5) Environment Impact Assessment (EIA) of mountain-skiing tourist-recreational complex of Bukovel, Bustrica, Chornogora and Szenez, 6) Developing the state system of natural environment monitoring (creation of the center of environment monitoring) in Ivano-Frankivsk region (State administration of natural environment guidance in Ivano-Frankivsk region), 7) Scientific eco-expert evaluation of projects of construction of small hydropower plants in the Carpathian region and others, and 8) The project "Methodology of ecologically safe introduction of renewable energy sources in the sustainable recreation and tourism development of the Carpathian region”. I also conduct scientific research on the topic of environmental assessment of possible impacts during the construction of renewable energy in Carpathian region.

I defended in 2013 the doctoral dissertation on the theme: Scientific and methodological foundations of natural and technogenic safety of the surface hydroecosystems of the Carpathian region.I supervise educational, methodical, scientific and methodical, scientific and research work at the Department for the purpose of training students of specialties "Tourism" and "Ecology". Under this, responsibilities include planning, organization and control of educational, methodical, scientific and methodical, scientific and research work of the Department in all forms of education specialty "Tourism".

In the past, I participated as an expert in the following international scientific projects:
1. RoUaSoil Project: Romania-Ukraine Transboundary Network - HUSKROUA / 1001/110 / -2012-2015 district management of areas contaminated with oil products.
2. TEMPUS Project (543966-TEMPUS-1-2013-1-BE-TEMPUS-JPCR) - 2015 Higher Engineering Training for Environmentally Sustainable Industrial Development (HETES).

I am serving as Secretary of the Editorial Board of the scientific publication "Environmental Safety and Sustainable Resource Use" (a scientific and technical journal). Additionally, I am a Member of the Public Council for Tourism Management of the Ivano-Frankivsk Regional State Administration (since 2015) and Member of the Scientific Council of the Carpathian National Nature Park (since 2016).

In my credit are more than 350 works published, including 60 teaching materials, 4 textbooks, 6 training manuals. I am the author of 6 patents of Ukraine for useful model, author and co-author of 6 books, 50 articles in professional journals, 15 scientometric articles, in particular 8 in the Scopus and Web of Science databases.
