Rana Roy is an independent researcher and pursuing his Ph.D. at University of Toronto, Canada. Prior to higher academic pursuit, he worked with Vasundhara, a
national level non-profit organisationbased at Bhubaneswar. With a professional degree in Rural Development, he has more than 15 years of experience of working in the sector at multiple scales and responsibilities.He has undertaken several research projects and consultancy assignments during his professional work. In addition to pursuing his Ph.D. studies, he taught undergrad course (FOR 302) at University of Toronto between 2015 and 2018. As a part of his professional engagement, he has participated in several international conferences in countries like Philippines, Thailand, Japan and Canada. In addition to his professional work, he is passionate about reviving local traditional food and production systems.
