URGENT APPEAL

Dear Friends and Colleagues!

We thank you for your supporting the cause of crying Ukraine. This is very important in such difficult times. Today, the Ukrainian people are making extraordinary efforts to defend their rights and freedom. As a result of the military invasion of Ukraine, all norms of international humanitarian law and fundamental human rights are violated. Our cultural heritage is being deliberately destroyed, and military action is provoking environmental catastrophes that could have unpredictable consequences not only locally but also globally.

Millions of Ukrainian citizens have found themselves in difficult life circumstances due to war. Significant damage is witnessed to infrastructure facilities: homes, community facilities, hospitals, kindergartens, schools, educational institutions. This has deprived a significant number of Ukrainians from access to drinking water, electricity, food, medical services and medicines. Our citizens, especially children, are under constant stress due to the bombing of cities and the resulting deaths of innocent people. Children are not allowed to continue their education in schools, and students do not attend universities.Today, Ukraine is facingsevere human tragedies causing hundreds of thousands of war refugees. A significant number of them is concentrated in the western regions of the country. Mostly elderly, sick people, women and children. Very often, shelter for these people is arranged in the premises of schools, universities, dormitories and other buildings, which are not actually adapted for such purposes. Besides, it requires high magnitude of expenditures needed to ensure the temporary stay of citizens in these places. Local resources are depleted and destroyed due to hostilities,air strikes and unprecedented havocs.

Our public organization, Institute of Socio-Economic Regional Studies (ISERS), in cooperation with Kamianets-Podilsky City Council and others, is organizing shelters and relief works to war affected victims in this massive humanitarian crisis in Ukraine.Our information webpage is https://www.pdatu.edu.ua/hromadska-orhanizatsiia-instytut-sotsialno-ekonomichnykh-rehionalnykh-doslidzhen.html and our Facebook page is https://www.facebook.com/ISERS2020. We are receiving ahelp from The Grassroots Institute’s ggN in campaigning for this HUMANTARIAN APPEAL. We have been organizing the humanitarian relief works directly and do not have any intermediary neither for the work on the ground nor for seeking financial contributions. Thus, in a bid to organize this humanitarian aid to victims, we need resources and donations to arrange the following:

1. Purchase of food, medicines, hygiene products, drinking water, warm clothes, etc.
2. Arrangement of temporary accommodation with basic necessities of bed linen, blankets, mattresses, sleeping bags, etc.
3. Providing educational, psychological and legal support to victims.
